Hi David,
Just south of the Port Everglades Inlet and just north of Dania Beach in
Broward county. John U. Lloyd is a 2 1/2 mile long stretch of state park
coastline that can be very productive to shellers when it wants to be! The
beach has suffered severe erosion, and some areas(jetty parking lot) are a
challenge to access. However, the benefits can be great for those of us who
love to "hunt" as well as "collect". There are a lot of rocks at the jetty
end, and quiet isolated beaches closer to the pier. Even when the shells are
scarce, the rocks can be quite interesting - lots of quartz, fossils and
coquina rock.
Happy hunting!
Joni
