Dear Fellow Conchologists,

After spending the past two months away from shells while producing some
television programs about asteroids with the mission team that just landed
the NEAR Shoemaker spacecraft on the asteroid Eros, I've finally focused my
attention to more Earthy pursuits and updated worldwideconchology.com, the
"slow", but visually strong non-commercial shell image Web site. There are
new additions to the Conidae and Muricidae pages. New additions will
follow soon.

If you have not visited recently, there are slide presentations, quizzes,
links to on-line museum databases, shell articles, and the shell family
pages. Some of the pages do load slowly, especially if you are using a
28.8k modem with a Pentium or Mac computer with a lower processor speed,
during peak hours. When opening up one of the slide presentations, take a
break, get a beer and chips, and then come on back. The slides should be
fully loaded by then!

Enjoy.
