Wow! Thanks for all the great responses! Another thing came to mind;
is there any way snails could be rendered sterile to prevent
reproduction?
I know this sounds cruel, but it couldn't be worse than spaying or
neutering,
could it? I thought about radiation, but this would probably cause more
problems than it would solve (like mutation). Could it be possible to
knock
a snail out with gas and then surgically remove or tie-off the
reproductive
organs? Of course, this would be microsurgery in the majority of species!
Any thoughts on this?
