Dear Conchlers,

today I got a shell which is called Vexillum sanguisuga. The name really
should sanguisuga as in the
species name it is used as a substantive (noun) and not as an adjective,
although Vexillum is neutrum.
So if you have in your collection this shells under Vexillum sanguisugum
please correct it into
Vexillum sanguisuga. It is wrong in many books and maybe on internet sites.
This is according to
Dr. Hans Turner, worldwide Mitra and Costellariidae specialist.
with best shelling greetings
Helmut
