Hypocrisy is everywhere.  I remember approaching an Australian chap in the
Philippines, who was running a dive shop.  I said that I was interested in
diving with him, and that I wanted to be sure that it would be okay to
collect some shells, including live ones.  He said that he wouldn't allow
any shells to be taken, either dead or alive, and that "We don't want your
type here".  As I consider myself a very eco-conscious person, I found this
offensive.

I then found out that the same guy ran a fish restaurant next door to his
dive shop.  One wonders whether he was cooking only dead fish that he'd
found floating on the surface... (Although this, by his own rules, should
also be unacceptable.)
