You are the victim of a practical joke. There was an article in the local
paper some time back about a collector who tired of the hobby. He decided to
spread his shells on local beaches to delight the tourists. We have had
people bring Indo-Pacific shells to our shell show for identification. Its
difficult to convince them that they are not local shells.
