Thanks for your willingness to help.
    I have a small fresh water aquarium. I got a couple of dark brown
snails from the pet store. They are round, about 10mm. They are much
smaller than apple snails. It seems I have always seen these little
creatures and never knew what they were. First day in the Aq., one laid
a small clutch of eggs on the glass. After 2 days, one could see them as
small dark dots (obviously shell material). After 5 days, they had
disappeared. I assume they had broken out of the egg-mass and drifted to
the rubble on the bottom.
    I hope you know what they are.
