Hello Conch-L'ers

Well, I really have no knowledge about the details involved, but I am
certain that hermit crabs enlarge their shell-houses. I have discarded lots
of snorkeled shells because the aperture and columella were broken, chewed
off, or otherwise eroded by their crab occupants. I always guessed that
they must use their claws to do it.
