     Hi everyone,
     I recently found a few clams in western Mexico (near Puerto Vallarta)
     that I'm having trouble identifying. They look very similar to the
     Macrocallista maculata (Linne 1758) aka the Calico Clam - they have
     very similar coloring, shape, etc. I suspect they are Megapitaria
     squalida (Sowerby, 1835). I've been using A. Keen's Sea Shells of
     Tropical West America and Abbott's Compendium and American Seashells.
