Dear Conchologist, Malacologist, collector,

Today we start with the first issue of a monthly conchological newsletter
called "PLEUROTOMARIA" that you will receive every month thanks to the fact
that you are a registered member of the site "Conchology".

PLEUROTOMARIA lists every month the list of all articles of taxonomical and
nomenclatural interest received by the SBM (Société Belge de Malacologie).

PLEUROTOMARIA is compiled by Etienne Meuleman, SBM Administrator, and mailed
to the more than 1000 registered members of Conchology. We invite Authors,
Journals or Club publications that have no exchange with the SBM (Novapex),
to contact us and mail their publications to the SBM.

When your work is announced on PLEUROTOMARIA, the audience is large enough
to duplicate the interest of your publication and incite conchologists to
purchase your work.

The December issue starts with all publications received between 1 September
and 30 September 2001. It will be continued 1 January with the publications
received between 1 and 31 October etc...

PLEUROTOMARIA will enable you to stay up to date on your favorite topic. You
can help "Conchology" by spreading around the news about PLEUROTOMARIA and
increase its registered members.

  Visit http://www.conchology.be/cyberconchology/newsletter.html

There you can search on publication, author, date of publication, titel
and/or content.

In the meantime we also reworked the technical presentation of the
"Exceptional Shells" on Conchology, that you can now browse 4 times faster
than before.

We are also happy to announce the appearance end December of a new issue of
A CONCHOLOGICAL ICONOGRAPHY: The family ACAVIDAE without the genus Ampelita.
It lists and figures extensively all ACAVIDAE of the genera Acavus,
Stylodon, Leucotaenius, Clavator, Helicophanta, Eurystyla and a new genus.
There are 44 colour plates and 68 pages of text, all species figured also in
Black and White, and with maps. From the press end this month. You can place
your orders already now on [log in to unmask]

Happy shelling,
Philippe
