Stephen:

Amongst others, the following references for Fusinus luteopicta (Dall,
1877) come to mind:

Morris, P.A. 1952. A field guide to Shells (p.132, pl. 30, fig. 10)

Abbott, R.T. 1954. American Seashells (p. 244, fig. 54c, as Aptyxis
luteopicta)

Morris, P.A. 1966. A field guide to Shells, 2nd ed. (p. 98, pl. 40, fig.
10, as Aptyxis luteopicta)

49, fig. 26.6)

Rehder, H.A. 1981. The Audubon Society field guide to North American
seashells (p. 577, fig. 46)

FYI, James McLean, curator emeritus of the Natural History Museum of Los
Angeles County, Malacology Section, is in the midst of preparing a
monumental 2 volume set of guides that will encompass ALL shelled
gastropods of the North Pacific from central Baja California, Mexico to the
Sea of Okhotsk, which should be out within 2-3 years. Stay tuned.

Aloha,

Lindsey Groves
