Just as general information:

On July 11 I lead a marine study field trip in Sarasota Bay beginning at 8
pm. The idea was to see what critters were out and discuss their lifestyles.
There were a few "Raggedy Sea Hares" at the beginning of the walk and we did
find a large Busycon sinistrum and a couple of Fasciolaria lilium hunteria
not to mention jillions of Bittiolum varium. However, just about the time we
had to turn on the flashlights, we began spotting Haminoea (I think
antillarum) crawling on top of the shoal grass. Within minutes we saw
literally thousands of them. Some were lined up and crawling in a file on
the sand. We couldn't help stepping on them.
We walked on and turned around and I decided to collect a few. But I
couldn't find any! They had disappeared under the grass and I could already
spot yellow egg masses clinging to the grass. I did finally spot some and
with one net sweep got nearly 100 animals. They inked all over the bucket.

On another note, I too have updated my website with my shelling trip
schedule for next year.
