The small one has a thickened lip but lacks the teeth. Sculpture is pretty
similar.

Maybe I can keep it alive and see how it develops. Does it matter what kind of
leaves and humus it's in?

It could be ... as those babies don't develop those recognizable shell
characters until adulthood.  Polygyrids also develop thickened aperatural
lips usually when adult, so if the little one has a thin, fragile lip, it's
probably a juvenile........look at the shell sculpture and
periostracum.....If they match....you have a match...
