Dear Conch-Lers,

I'm emailing from my laptop in the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia.
If you are anywhere within driving distance of Central Philadelphia (the
museum district), you owe it to yourself to visit the Philadelphia Shell
Show at the Academy of Natural Sciences, 1900 Benjamin Franklin Pkwy. at
19th St. - call (215) 299-1000, the main museum phone number for
directions, or visit the museum Web site at http://www.acnatsci.org/ .
Follow the link for Shell Show Weekend. You can also visit the museum's
exhibits too.

The shell show exhibits are excellent. Lots of superb shells on display.
Also, a complement of dealers are attending, with many more shells to see,
or (hush, hush) buy! Marcus Coltro, Donald Dan, Al Deynzer, Bruno DeBruin,
Sue Hobbs, Don Pisor, Larry Strange, Chris Takahashi, and myself. A number
of conchological and malacological luminaries have been seen lurking around
too. Attending the show will give you an opportunity to meet and chat with
many of these people.

I'm writing this Saturday night. It is probably a bit late (Saturday
evening, Nov. 2) to encourage most you to attend at the last minute, since
the show closes tomorrow evening. The show hours are from 10am to 5pm on
Sunday. If you make an effort to attend the show, you won't be
disappointed.

Hope to see at least a few of you tomorrow.

Rich

P.S. - Did you know you can save PDF's on to your computer for later
reference? See this Web site:
http://www.planetpdf.com/mainpage.asp?WebPageID=391
Once downloaded you can access the PDF so much quicker using Adobe Acrobat
that through the Web. Just a suggestion.
