Hi, CONCH-L!

I have a Mytilidae I can't identify (am look for the
locality, but this dates from my beginner days, I think).
It is smooth, no striations (this is marine, not fresh
water); the outside is white with a trace of a brown layer
(periostracum). The nacre is white.

Does anyone recognize this species from my description
(sorry, no digital camera, and my scanner has no depth of
field to handle this).

Thanks,
Linda
