Hello,

I have been working with specimens of Spondylus from the Philippines and have been having
difficulties distinguishing between the following:

Spondylus squamosus Schreibers, 1793
Spondylus barbatus Reeve, 1856
Spondylus butleri Reeve, 1856
Spondylus versicolor Schreibers, 1793

I don't have access to Lamprell's book, but would like to know key features useful in
distinguishing between these species. E-mailed information, literature citations, or photocopies
are all welcome. Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
and I'll look forward to hearing from you. :)

Sincerely,
Tim Blackwood
