I have had good results using the UltraKleen device:

It does require some care with fragile parts of shells; but with patient
use it cleans very well.  It's much easier on the hands than dental picks.

To Conch-L members in general, I will repeat my periodic request that
you please edit the quoted text in your replies to the list so readers
don't have to wade through endless, repetitious lines of previous
messages.  Plain text messages also are preferred over HTML for mailing
