I am looking for a way to identify ice-age shells that are washed up on the
beaches near where I live in Scotland. Most are species which are now found
in more northern waters such as those around Iceland.

I have discovered that there is a book - Skeldýrafána Íslands by I.
ÓSKARSSON - and I would like to know if this would be suitable for helping
me with these identifications (ie with illustrations and descriptions
rather than essays, statistics etc). I know it is in Icelandic but that
shouldn't be insuperable since I have Icelandic dictionaries and some
knowledge of the language.

If this book is suitable, does anyone know if it is still in print? If not,
and if it is likely to serve the purposes I require it for, I will go for a
second-hand copy.

Thanks

Sarah
