A statute league is 4.82803 km or 3 statute mi.
A nautical league is 5.55955 km or 3 nautical mi.

Obviously a measure of distance. A nmi=1.17 mi.
(and a knot is one nmi/hr)

Hello!

Hi,

Twenty thousand leagues under the sea meant a submerged trip of 60,000
miles. I suppose his nuke powered sub could do just that, except
snorkeling for a looksee.
