Hi Peter
I can't tell you who, but Tucker typically lifted his illustrations from the old
classics, often the publications in which they were first illustrated, or a
master work.

In this case perhaps Philippi, 1841

I own no classics so I can not look them up...

Hi all,

Nobody emailed me back about the name of the artists of the photos in the Van
Nostrand Standard Catalog of Shells.

I now have the Guildfordia triumphans drawing from the title page of that book
as a tattoo and would like to know who actually drew the original (my copy is
missing the front cover). The tattoo is about 2.5" across and on my inner
forearm just below the elbow, by the way. Looks great...now thinking of a Murex
pecten for my back...my whole back :-).
