Just a note about collecting permits for the Louisville COA Convention.
 
In Kentucky, the cost of the permit is $200.00 and as has been previously
stated one permit for COA would probably cover everyone.  As for Indiana, that
is another story:  The permit costs $10.00, but Indiana does not allow you to
retain even dead shells, only gather information.  I work the Ohio River near
Louisville every year and this is my experience.  Even researchers are not
allowed to retain shells in Indiana.
