I knew that cephalopods produce a dye, but it isn't purple but
normaly black (nankin for instance). Sea Hare's do produce
purple dye, but is it similar to those of Muricidae? Does it
stain fabric in the same way?

Muricidae purple dye is bright green at first, turning purple
under light (the brighter the light, the faster the color
change)... I've noticed that neither alcohol, nor formoldehide
nor bleach can remove a Muricide purple dye stain!

Is there any report of purple dye for Olividea or Volutidae???

regards
Fabio W.
