Hummmm.... giant clam sushi, was it good to eat? I've eaten just a few mollusks as Strombus gigas
(in Fl and Caribbean), Strombus pugilis, Olivancillaria urceus (not good), Nodipecten nodosus,
Haliotis (at COA convention), Perna perna, and several other bivalves here and abroad. I've heard
someone in Japan have tried many Pleurotomaria species, and all tasted awful.

Is there any good recipe book for preparing shells?

Marcus

CITES doesn't cover ownership of listed species, but only export/import thereof. If you were to
send or receive or collect and transport a specimen of a listed specie across international borders,
it must be accompanied by the applicable documentation. If a specimen of a listed specie was
acquired prior to listing, documentation of the date of purchase or acquisition would have to be
submitted to "the appropriate authorities" ( ? ) to obtain a permit prior to transferring it to
another country.

I guess if you ate the thing in a restaurant, bring a copy of the receipt! (This is making me
wonder about the conch fritters and "giant clam" sushi I've had in the past year or two....)
