Thank you David,

  It happens that I am looking at some shells from a Roman site on the
shores of Nemi Lake and it seems strange to me that there are no
remains of freshwatershells at all among the material. However it is
hard to speculate anything without knowing first if the lake does have
or had any edible bivalves.
