I have heard a story that a certain marine shell, whenever it was found
in Japanese waters, was to be immediately and exclusively given to the
Emperor, with dire consequences befalling any who heeded not this
directive. However, beyond that bare skeleton, i have no flesh with
which to clothe the bones of this story. Has anyone ever heard of such
a matter? Can they perhaps fill in the blanks?

From a cool evening in New Scotland,
ross mayhew.
