I was following the discussion on the holotypes and paratypes and I
remember how difficult was to reach them to do my more recent book. An
additional problem is that most of the types of the species that occur
in Brazil is at “First World” institutions, and several travels were
necessary, sometimes with some financial from there, sometimes without
it.
Anyway, I think this is an opportunity to divulge the catalogue again
showing the importance of the type for identifying species, and I
re-send the informative email below:

Dear colleagues and friends
This is the second call respect to the catalogue recently published,
inventorying entire Brazilian mainland malacofauna and neighbor
regions (for freshwater mollusks, for example, practically entire
South American species are included).
The catalogue is the result of a 12-year project and is full color,
brings all species illustrated (80% with types), and synthetically
organized. It has hard cover and fine paper glossy brochure. No more
than 72 researchers and professional people contributed to it.
You can reach more information and to know how to order it contact me

I hope the catalogue will be very useful to you all; it was done with
care and thoughtfully.
All the best,
Luiz
