Hey Fred,

If you Goggle "Babylonia shell" for images, you will get plenty of images of
different Babylonia shells (about 15 living species) as well as an
interesting pair of women's shoes.  The "crabbed" part of the statement
refers to finding a shell that has been taken over by a hermit crab after
the original occupant died.  Because such shells are drug around by a hermit
crab that performs no maintenance, they become beat up and worn.  If newly
crab-inhabited, however, the shell can look near perfect.
