>I want to thank Marlo for preparing the wonderful presentation on Laciolina
magna, using my specimens and the others that add to it.

I've found L. magna in interesting places:

- In Bimini, Bahamas, I found a complete pair lying on the side of
the road leading towards the resort that was located in S. Bimini.
There were also a few pairs in mounds of dredged material in S.
Bimini Harbor.

- In FL, as Marlo said, I've never found a complete pair together. .
Diving on the East coast, however, I would often find a scattering of
single valves around the stern of wrecks. I'd snatch them all up and on
top try to match
up the pairs. I'd usually get a few complete pairs this way - but not in
good condition and not worth showing to people.

The best specimens I found in the Bahamas were from Eleuthera, on a trip
w. the Cordys, and a couple of these pairs are in the presentation. There
was one beach where I found one fresh dead pair, valves still connected,
and looked around until I'd found a total of 8 pr. What a day !

I've also found them in Abaco, Berry Islands, and Chub Cay.

AS to FL W. coast L. magna, Bet Hamilton, diving, found a beautiful
orange and pink striped pair in "Cuda Hole" - off the W. coast around
Sarasota, at 50'.
