Dear All,
A while back I contacted Henk Dijkstra pertaining to the plica/striatus
question. He answered that:
" Pallium striatum Schumacher, 1817 is a subjective junior synonym of Ostrea
plica Linneaus, 1758".
He further stated that he just finished a publication on the type specimens
of Pectinidae described by Linneaus and it will be published in the Zoological
Journal of the Linnean Society of London.
 This was in Feb. 1997.
Unfortunately I do not as yet have this article, and cannot tell you exactly
when it was published, but I am sure it has been published by now.
For those of you who are not familiar with Henk Dijkstra, he is actually the
foremost authority on Pectinidae species.
