Hi everyone,
Dick Kurz played a very special part in my becoming interested in
malacology.
I also remember his list. Every time I received one, I would scan the Oliva
and call him as quickly as possible to get them before they were sold out.
I never met him in person but I spoke with him a length almost every month,
or whenever a new list came out, for several years.
I am pleased that Ed Petuch and I named Oliva kurzi for him, which by the
way, is a valid species that is much closer to panniculata than australis.
Ed and I intend to reestablish its' credibility in our new book, which is
still about a year or so away.
Richard Kurz, a friend that I held dear even though I never met him in
person.
Best wishes,
Dennis Sargent
