Doug,
Some tridacnids are raised on farms and sold in the aquarium trade. These
would be legal. Otherwise, it would be a violation of CITES if they were
sold internationally. I believe if I had a CITES listed specimen and owned
it (possibly from before CITES) I could sell it within my country unless I
was breaking a national law. CITES deals with international trade.
