My very first mail order shell purchases were from an outfit called Javo
Distributing Company, somewhere in Florida. Does anyone else remember it?
Next I ordered from Mrs. Lorna Melvin, right in my home state at the time,
Massachusetts. I bought my first Cypraea teulerei from her for a mere $75.00
(grimace) - well, it was still RARE then!! Then I got into ordering from a
west coast outfit called Seashell Treasures, run by Arthur and Emma West.
Then Richard Kurz and Kirk Anders. Boy, talk about bringing back memories! I
bet some of you other vintage collectors recognize some of these names.
