Here's an idea. As many of you know I'm an administrator for Let's Talk Seashells Forums (http://s14.invisionfree.com/Conchologist_Forum/index.php).

Shell club newsletters often contain useful and interesting information many of us would enjoy. While many clubs post their newsletters on club websites, there is no centralized location online to readily find them, or other club announcements. So, here's my idea. LTS is a forum site and all members can make posts, including posting newsletters [does require converting each page to a photo file, uploading to a hosting service that provides image code (i.e., Photobucket), and inserting the image code in your post]. So, if there is sufficient interest from clubs, I'll add a "Shell Club" category to LTS with a forum for each club. Then, each club can post newsletters (or any other data/announcements)in their forum. Newsletters as far back as desired can be posted. So that they appear in chronological order, a standardized Topic identifier would have to be developed. Folks, keep in mind that LTS is designed as an interactive forum and is not a website. Therefore, for many objectives, it takes some innovation and a little extra work.

Comments welcome here on Conch-L. I would like to hear from one club interested in participating with an electronic copy of one or two recent newsletters I can use to create a sample for others to view. The person emailing should be the person intending to do the posting so I'll have a contact to provide assistance, if required. I'll set it up, but the clubs will have to do the posting.
