Thanks to the CNRS team (Sébastien Dutertre, Vincent Creuze, Bruno GAREL) who shared with WWS the Mayotte mission images, I have been able to make a short footage about Flipper : the Robot used to catch shells for science !

A robot-vacuum cleaner seabed, Flipper, the latest research from the Laboratory of Computer Science, robotics and microelectronics of Montpellier (LIRMM), has just been tested in the waters of Mayotte, a hot-spot biodiversity where the There are 70 species of cones. These shells produce venoms with very promising pharmacological properties.

Happy Shelling,
DAVID
