I want to express my great sorrow after learning about the passing of
Vivienne Smith. Vivienne was a great supporter of the Shell Museum on
Sanibel, and a good friend. She was also a very active member of the
Sanibel-Captiva Shell Club and Southwest Florida Conchologist Society (Fort
Myers). I truly enjoyed sharing good moments with Vivienne at the Shell
Museum, where she volunteered for many years, first in the library and
after that also in the collection area, where she helped with the sorting
and identification of Florida fossil shells and wentletraps. Vivienne will
be deeply missed by all of us.
