Hello Conch-L's:
I've been on the list for a while but this is my first time to write.
I'm Dennis, from the Philippines. I came to like shells not just because
we have a lot of them at home, but because of its beauty and variety.
My father, Quirino, is a shell dealer, and as the eldest, I have the
honor of helping him in his work. Though I've just started identifying
our specimens, I have already pointed out my favorite groups or
families, which include cowries, conus, and spondylus. I also like
murex but I have a hard time identifying them.
There is just one point which makes me somewhat reluctant to this
hobby: I just wonder if the younger generation would continue to
collect shells considering the fact of environmental protection programs
implemented by both the government and non-government organizations.
That would be all for this time... may you all have a nice day!!!
Dennis Hora
