Can someone who has done it tell me how to slice shells apart. I would like
to cut both side off, leaving a flat piece that show the swirls inside.

A band saw? What blade? A tile cutter? Some other tool? What lubricant,
oil, water, or what?

I've seen them used in crafts, so know there must be some way to do it.
