Dear Aydin, I use a copy stand of course then I shoot with two strobe
flashes, one is a slave. If you use a strobe on automatic it might not
let enought light out. I put the camera on timer and hold the flashes
on both sides with the lens set on F 16 or F 22. I usually use long
nape black velvet taped on one end of a plastic film can. That sets the
shell up higher and the light from the flashes can get in better.
Sometime I use a white glue on some of my micro Marginellas and stick
them on the head of a pin. If the head is to large the I cut it off and
stick the shell on the cutoff end. Of course the pin is stuck in
something soft like cork under the velvet without the film can this
time. Of course taking live shells is more difficult, but can be done.
