Yes the story goes that Jerry Walls named Conus tribblei after his own
favorite cat Tribbles, which in turn was named after the little hairy
creatures called tribbles which were featured on a Startreck episode.
Incidentally, the "i" ending on the species name indicates that Tribbles was
a male cat :-)   Cheers.
