If you do not want to go the nail polish and ink route, you might consider
using the small plastic bags that many dealers use.  You can buy these at
most hobby stores and coin shops.  They are inexpensive and will keep your
shells separate and with the correct data slips.  Another method is the
small plastic box.  This gets a bit pricey but it does protect the shell and
looks a lot nicer than the bags (which I use).  For smaller shells, a lot of
folks use the small plastic trays with lid -- like those sold for fishing
tackle.  The open drawer with sections looks great but you have to use
caution as I know two people who had trouble with this set up.  One moved
and during the move the chest was tipped -- you guessed it, all of the
shells and data slips were mixed up.  The other person dropped a drawer.  No
damage to the shells but there was a bit of confusion over the data slips.
