Does anyone know where a copy of Martyn's work (or reproductions) can be
viewed ? He illustrated the first specimens to be collected from the Pacific
NE ( King George's Sound, later Nootka Sound, Vancouver Island) by Cpt. Cook
and his crew in 1778, and some were incorporated in the "Banks Collection".
Nucella lamellosa (Gmelin, 1791)
Nucella canaliculata (Duclos, 1832)
Ceratostoma foliatum (Gmelin, 1791)
Lirabuccinum dirum (Reeve, 1846)  = Searlisia dira
