Hi,
I just returned from several days of meetings and read all the conch-l
email that has piled up and noticed several people were concerned about the
transmission of viruses with conch-l emails. I looked at my files and had
our computer listserv specialist look at the conch-l logs to see if there
was a virus transmitted or attached to any of the last month's conch-l
email. We could not find any virus so it looks like the conch-l list was
not the cause of any virus problems list members have had. Now this does
not mean it couldn't happen. The length of conch-l posts are limited to
filter out attachments like photos and viruses - but something could slip
through - so you are wise to be careful - use and keep your virus
protection programs up to date.
I know we are all friends on the conch-l list - and friends try to inform
and help each other - but this list really isn't the best place to learn
about virus protection software. There are lots of places on the web to
learn about viruses and how to protect your computer from them please use
these sites and lists for discussions on viruses.
Thanks.
Amy
