I had a 2 inch Charonia variegata in my aquarium for 4 years. It ate
Donax variabilis, Atrina rigida, and Florida bay starfish. It put on
about 4 varices and grew to about 5 inches before it died. I don't know
why it died. It got along with all the other shells in the aquarium
very well. It would clean its shell with its probosis which was very
long. I have slides showing how long the probosis could be extended.
Maybe someday I will put them on line.
