For reasons beyond my comprehension, the "shell world" is NOT a bivalve-friendly
place, with a few notable - and comforting -  exeptions!  One of these Bright
Spots is the the splendid book on bivalves of the west coast of North America,
by Paul Scott and Gene Coan - wish i could remember where to get it - anyone know??
