Re: tropid comments.

        Is there any mechanism that prevents marine creatures from
transmitting deseases? Is it possible to know anything about this either
from pelagic forms---or, perhaps, the toredo? Might this account for
some normal extinctions?---or haven't we been here long enough to know?
