A bit off-topic...

Have any of you collectors, while snorkeling or diving for shells, ever seen
a seahorse? The last time I saw one was in Nassau about thirty seven years
ago. I was snorkeling off the boat ramp (at the yacht club, I think. I was
quite small.) and saw one that was about 3 inches high. Hopefully, I extended
my index finger and wouldn't you know it curled its tail around it and
perched like a trained parrot. A very pleasant experience.

I didn't go back to the Bahamas for another thirty years, but I've been back
a number of times in the last six years. Visiting several of the out islands
(heaven!) andspent countless blissfull hours snorkeling in the shallows (done
a bit of diving too), but haven't seen a seahorse.

Anyone seen one lately?

Where are they?

Thanks,

Ellen in New Haven in the thaw (such mud and road dirt!)
