Jeff,
In most land snails the inside of the shell has a whitish color, so I
suspect that any "pearl" would be the same color. Henk can probably provide
a better answer. But, I must add that, based on Henk's description, I don't
think I can easily tell whether or not an unusual growth on the inside of a
land snail shell is a pearl, that is shell material deposited around a
foreign object (or a piece of broken shell) or a repair scar. Repaired
breaks & holes are very common in land snail shells & it is often difficult
to see thru them.
