Dear all,
I am in Florida this week conducting a mussel survey for Florida DOT
(Department of Transportation). I have often joked that I sometimes feel
guilty getting paid for what I do (that is until the check comes in). After
today, I will never feel guilty again for taking money for my services.
Today, near one of our sites on the Santa Fe River we met two men
(consultants) who had been flown in from the State of Washington to work of a
project for Florida DOT (presumably the same project I am on). Anyway, these
to consultants were standing on a street corner counting the number of people
passing by who were wearing their seat belts. It is so sad that no one in the
State of Florida or neighboring states could be found who were qualified to
count seatbelt users. Please pardon the non-shell related posting, But I
just think this is hilarious.
