Hi Art

Someone answered nicely for me! Abapical is the opposite of adapical,
which means toward the apex. The shoulder is the adapical whorl
surface, as opposed to the base. The posterior canal is the adapical
part of the aperture.

Ad: toward
Ab: away from

Adapertural means toward the aperture... pretty sure this means along
the bodywhorl surface, going in the direction of growth ( a good way
to refer to tenting direction eg cones).
