I THINK it is...

Bathyal: 200-1000m

Abyssal: 1000-2000m (or was it 1000-4000?)

Hadal: 2000m+

In places bathyal depths can be within a few hundred meters of the
coast, as is the case south of Kaikoura, NZ, where thehead of the
Kaikouura Canyon almost reaches the shore.
